Tsogo Sun Holdings is 51% owned by Tsogo Investment Holding Company, a fully empowered company. The empowerment deal which resulted in the establishment of Tsogo Sun Holdings in 2003 was hailed as a landmark empowerment deal, making a significant contribution to the transformation of the hotel and gaming industry in South Africa.

Tsogo Sun's BEE philosophy is much more than a policy - it epitomises the corporate ethos and the very nature of how our company does business. Jabu Mabuza, Group Chief Executive, is accepted as an international authority and role model on BEE. Not only has he presented papers on the subject in Africa, Britain, USA and Europe but he has also been the recipient of numerous BEE awards, including the 2004 Impumelelo Top Black Business Personality of the Year.

Tsogo Sun Holdings also received a nomination for Impumelelo's Top Empowered Companies for 2006/2007 adding enormous weight to our Group’s philosophy that BEE is not just about meeting government standards, but instead about the way our company fundamentally operates at its core.
