2003 saw the birth of a leisure industry giant when an empowerment deal was signed between SABMiller and Tsogo Investments, resulting in the formation of Tsogo Sun Holdings. The deal gave Tsogo Investments control of the largest hotel and entertainment group in Southern Africa.

Tsogo Sun Holdings Comprises:

• 100% shares in the gaming interests of Tsogo Sun Gaming
• 100% shares in the hotel interests of Southern Sun Hotels

Since its inception six years ago, Tsogo Sun Gaming has focused predominantly on establishing our five casinos as leading entertainment destinations with strong individual presence in the areas where they operate.  The casinos are Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg; Suncoast in Durban; The Ridge in Witbank; Emnotweni in Nelspruit; and Hemingways in East London.

In 2009, as part of our ongoing expansion drive, the group became the proud owners of two new casinos when we acquired The Caledon Casino, Hotel & Spa and Century Casino Newcastle which subsequently has been rebranded Blackrock Casino.
