Fans of the movie Bakgat, which was a massive local movie success in 2008, are in for a huge treat. They will have the chance to mingle with their favourite characters when the cast of the much-anticipated sequel, Bakgat 2, makes a special appearance at The Ridge Food Court between 5pm and 9pm on Saturday, 11 September.

The young stars, who made household names for themselves with the first Bakgat movie, include Ivan Botha (Wimpie); Cherie van der Merwe (Katrien); Andrew Thompson (Fanie); Ciske Kruger Botha (Christie); Neil Sharim (Japie); Lelia Etsebeth (Liezl ), and Altus Theart (Werner "Killer" Botha).

Bakgat 2, which hits movie screens, including the big screen at The Ridge, on Friday, 10 September, promises to be just as hilarious as the first, with a few surprises of course.

The movie picks up two years on from where the first Bakgat ended off. The group of friends are now at university. Wimpie, now the U/21 rugby hero, gets a chance to play international rugby. This is obviously an opportunity of a lifetime but he is caught between his love of the game and his love for his sweetheart Katrien who has her own career ambitions and doesn’t want to leave the country. The movie is a laugh a minute with Fanie struggling to get used to the new Christie and Japie experiencing "size" problems of his own in his relationship with Liezl. Werner joins the Varsity rugby team and threatens Wimpie's place.

Get down to The Ridge and watch the movie on Friday and then meet the stars in real life the next day. It’s a double-whammy treat that you shouldn’t miss!
